Recycling more plastic in Houston

Texas

In case you missed it, we’re collaborating with industry leaders – Cyclyx International and LyondellBasell – to advance a first-of-its-kind plastic processing facility in Houston that will connect community recycling programs to new and more advanced recycling technologies that have the potential to take a much wider variety of plastic materials. This means more plastics – that could otherwise end up in landfills – can be turned into feedstock for making new products.

Cyclyx, ExxonMobil and LyondellBasell are members of the Houston Recycling Collaboration, which aims to help the City of Houston significantly increase plastic recycling rates. The Cyclyx Circularity Center will help to advance that mission by leveraging new technologies to analyze and sort plastics.

We have plans underway to increase our advanced recycling capacity to nearly one billion pounds annually by the end of 2026 at our facilities across the world.
